(4) Argentina 2 (13) New Zealand 4

BOSTON - In the finale of first round play at Fenway Park in Boston, underdog New Zealand, a team with a big chip on their shoulder, defeated Argentina 4-2. Although by seeds New Zealand would be a huge underdog, many believed that they were seeded too low, an opinion that was quite aggresively expressed by the New Zealand team themselves. They proved that they could walk the walk too today with their win over powerful Argentina. They held Argentina's offense in check with the exception of the 4th inning, where they were able to escape a bases-loaded no outs jam with only giving up two runs. This win sets up the desired second-round matchup of New Zealand and USA, a match long desired by both teams due to the long-standing rivalry between the two.
