The Maine team is 0-2 with one game left. This means they have no chance of advancing past pool play. Too bad for them, I was pulling for them. Anyways, they have one game left, which is going on now on ESPN.

Root for them! Give them a good send off!

The All-Star team from the Westbrook, Maine Little League defeated the All-Stars from the Cranston, Rhode Island West Little League in the New England regional finals yesterday. They advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennslyvania. Go Maine!

I've been watching the Little League World Series for a few years now. The games are great fun to watch. In order to make it to Williamsport, the team first has to win their district tournament. If they win that, they go to a sectional tournament. The winner of that competes in a state tournament, with the winner of that going to a regional tournament. Finally, the winner of that goes to the World Series Tournament in Williamsport. This tournament has sixteen teams from all over the world (eight from the U.S. and eight from the rest of the world).

I was rooting for the Massachusetts team (from Dudley) to win the New England tournament, but since they got knocked out, Maine is the next best state in my opinion. I'll be rooting for them in Williamsport. Go New England!!

Peter Jennings Dies

Peter Jennings died yesterday of lung cancer caused from cigarette smoking. He was a great news anchor, and had his job for a long long time. I respect him and would just like to remember him in this post.
